Newly elected student leaders began their terms after taking their oaths during the Leaders’ Ball on October 16, 2025, at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sports Center.
The induction capped the election and proclamation of winners from various student organizations, including the Urdaneta City University Student Council.
UCU officials, advisers, and student leaders attended as City Councilor Hon. Alfonso Miguel Manuel Del Prado served as guest of honor and speaker, and inducting officer.
In his speech, Del Prado highlighted the importance of unity and community involvement in shaping a brighter future.
“We are not just future leaders, but we are current contributors. Small or big contributions are still considered valuable contributions,” he said.
He also encouraged teachers, advisers, and professors to continue providing quality education, emphasizing that students are the country’s future.
Outgoing Student Council President, Lorenzo Jose O. Bandong, in his legacy speech, urged the new leaders to serve with integrity and empathy.
“Leadership is not about progressions, but about purpose. To the newly elected leaders of Urdaneta City University, lead not only with your mind but also with your heart. Remember, leadership is not about position, but about serving,” Bandong said.
In her commitment speech, newly elected Student Council President, Althea Kate P. Menzon stressed that leadership stems from purpose and passion.
“Leadership is not about something that you can earn easily. Leadership is not about our position. It is about purpose and passion. It is about showing up when it’s hard, speaking up when it matters,” Menzon said.
She also called on her fellow officers to serve with a goal of transformation rather than recognition.
“I will carry compassion throughout my career. To my fellow officers, let this be our collective promise—that we will serve not for recognition, but for transformation. Not for titles, but for trust. Together we will strive to make this university not only a place of learning, but also a home of unity, inclusivity, and excellence,” she added.
