CCE ends Knights’ gold campaign

Defending champions City College of El Salvador (CCE) denied the UCU Knights Reborn’s (UKRe) hopes for gold in a thrilling, five-set semifinal match, 25–22, 15–25, 25–20, 21–25, 12–15.

This is their first loss of the season. 

Although the Knights used their strength and tactics, the taller CCE squad effectively guarded UCU’s gunners—Quero, Mesisgan, Cojotan, and Gutierrez—especially at the net.

CCE’s powerful service disrupted the Knights’ receptions, preventing them from setting up proper plays and maintaining offensive rhythm.

UKRe remains in contention for bronze against City College of Tagaytay tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Brgy. Citrus Covered Court.
